How to Become an AirTalk Wireless Customer?
Getting a free unlimited phone and wireless plan, a free government phone, and a considerable tablet discount may almost sound too good to be true. But it is! So, where do you sign up?
Well, AirTalk Wireless services are not available for everybody, as such, you must first make sure that you qualify for it in the first place.
First of all, to become an AirTalk Wireless customer, you must be at least 18 years old (or an emancipated minor) and a resident of one of the following states: Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Secondly, as AirTalk is a government assistance program, you must be Lifeline and/or Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)-eligible:
- A household is Lifeline-eligible if its annual income is at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines or if a household member participates in one of the Lifeline-qualifying government assistance programs, such as Medicaid, SNAP, SSI, certain Tribal programs, etc.
- A household is ACP-eligible if its annual income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines, if the household received the Federal Pell Grant in the current award year, or if a household member participates in Lifeline, any of the Lifeline-qualifying assistance programs, WIC, or Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program.
If you qualify for AirTalk’s government benefits and you are able to prove it, you can apply for the benefits at airtalkwireless.com.
What Kinds of Phones Does AirTalk Wireless Offer
When it comes to AirTalk phones, customers have four options.
1. AirTalk Free Government Phones
Lifeline and ACP-eligible customers can receive a free government AirTalk phone. Free phones include flip phones, Android smartphones, and iPhones and the customer will be able to select the phone model they wish to receive. You can see the selection of AirTalk free phones at airtalkwireless.com/free-phone.
2. AirTalk Bring Your Own Phone
AirTalk also offers a Bring Your Own Phone program that enables customers to bring their own device to AirTalk. The device you bring must be carrier-unlocked and compatible with AirTalk’s services. You can check your phone’s compatibility at airtalkwireless.com/byop.
3. AirTalk Replacement Phone
Initially, you can either use your own phone or receive a free phone from AirTalk. However, in case your AirTalk phone starts malfunctioning, you can use the company’s 15-day warranty or the manufacturer’s one-year warranty to receive a free replacement phone. These warranties do not cover damage caused by physical abuse, theft, or loss. If, however, your AirTalk phone got lost, stolen, or damaged due to misuse, you can contact the company and ask them to send you a replacement phone for a small fee. The replacement phone is a device that is the same as your original device or of similar quality. A replacement phone is not to be confused with an upgrade phone, which should, by definition be of better quality.
4. AirTalk Wireless Upgrade Phone
If, on the other hand, you feel like your original AirTalk phone doesn’t fit your needs anymore and you want a better device, you can purchase an AirTalk Wireless upgrade phone. An upgrade phone is one that is of higher quality, more advanced, or basically an improvement over the original phone.
How to Get an AirTalk Wireless Upgrade Phone?
Getting an AirTalk Wireless upgrade phone is simple.
Assuming that you already are an AirTalk customer and you are using your AirTalk services on your original phone (either one that you have received from AirTalk or the one that you brought), you can simply buy an upgrade phone.
AirTalk Wireless doesn’t have physical stores where you can buy its devices or services, however, it does have a convenient and user-friendly online store.
To access AirTalk’s online store, you can visit the company’s official website at https://airtalkwireless.com/ and choose ‘Shop’ in the main menu on top. There you will be able to shop for free phones, upgrade phones, tablets, bundles, hotspots, and top-up plans.
To access AirTalk’s upgrade shop specifically, you can go straight to airtalkwireless.com/upgrade-phone. There you will see a large selection of high-quality mobile devices from the most reputable brands, including Samsung, Apple, Motorola, and more. Scroll through the company’s generous selection of devices and choose the one that best fits your needs. Important factors that you may take into consideration are the brand of the phone, the specifications, the features, and obviously, the price.
Indeed, unlike replacement phones (at least in certain cases), upgrade phones are not free of charge. AirTalk offers its upgrade phones at reasonable prices, however, the prices still vary a lot, so you may have to choose the device that you can actually afford.
Once you have selected a device, click on it, review its specifications in detail, and then simply put it into the cart and place the order. When you place your order, you will be required to provide some personal information, shipping address, and payment information, and obviously, you will have to pay for the device online, just like you pay for any other online purchases. And again, you can only do so if you are an existing customer.
While some wireless providers may have specific policies about when you can purchase an upgrade phone (they usually have these terms if they offer significantly discounted upgrades), AirTalk doesn’t specifically state any conditions as to when or how to upgrade your phone. You simply have to be an AirTalk customer and purchase the upgrade device online as described above.
