About Assurance Wireless Network
Assurance Wireless is a Federal Lifeline Assistance and Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) provider that offers subsidized phone and wireless services to eligible low-income households. Through the government-funded benefit programs, qualifying customers can receive a free monthly plan with unlimited texts, talk, and data, up to 10GB of mobile hotspot data, and a free smartphone.
Assurance Wireless is a brand owned by T-Mobile. As a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), Assurance does not have its own network towers but uses T-Mobile’s nationwide infrastructure and network instead.
T-Mobile offers the third-largest 4G network (covering 63% of the territory and reaching about 99% of the population) and the largest 5G network (covering over 41% of the territory and reaching all residents of larger urban areas). As such, Assurance Wireless also offers this excellent network and coverage to its customers and as the brand is owned by T-Mobile, there should be little to no disadvantages for T-Mobile’s customers, even in times of congestion.
Even though Assurance offers a great nationwide network with fast speeds, sometimes we may have to tweak the Assurance Wireless network settings to get the strongest signals and experience the fastest speeds. See how to do so in the following chapters.
What are Assistance Wireless Network Settings?
When we talk about network settings, we usually refer to APN settings. APN is an acronym that stands for Access Point Names. APN settings are the configuration settings needed for your mobile device to connect to the carrier’s network. In our case, Assistance Wireless customers need the right APN settings to connect to the provider’s 4G and 5G networks.
Nevertheless, Assurance Wireless (or any other carrier, for that matter) doesn’t have universal APN settings for all devices. The settings differ between Android phones and iPhones, as such, you must be mindful of which APN settings you wish to enter. See the Assurance Wireless network/APN settings for Android phones and iPhones in the following sections below.
