Boost Mobile is a popular wireless provider. They offer very affordable unlimited plans and as such attract more and more people who want to join their network. There are several ways to get your own Boost Mobile plan, in each case you must have a phone that is compatible with Boost Mobile Service.
What Do We Mean By ‘compatible Phones’?
In general, each wireless provider has some limitations on which mobile phones can operate on its network. By ‘compatible phones’, we refer to mobile phones that will accept mobile network’s SIM card and will be able to be activated on that network.
Phones Compatible With Boost Mobile Service
When it comes to phones compatible with Boost Mobile Service, you generally have two options. You can either purchase a phone at Boost Mobile, which is without a doubt compatible with their network or you can explore Boost Mobile’s ‘Bring Your Own Phone’ (BYOP) option, in which case you can bring your existing device if it is compatible with their network.
Boost Mobile Compatibility Check Process
As we mentioned above, there are two options for you to use the Boost Mobile network – either purchase a new phone at Boost Mobile, which will obviously be fully compatible with their network or bring your existing phone.
If you decide to explore the BYOP option, you must first make sure that your phone is compatible with Boost Mobile. There are two ways to go around this process:
- You can find a local Boost Mobile store and have local personnel perform this check for you.
OR
- You can perform the COMPATIBILITY CHECK yourself online.
Assuming that most of you reading this article are capable of using your computers or smartphones to access the internet, we will focus on the second of the above two methods.
So, in order to check your Boost Mobile compatibility, visit https://activate.boostmobile.com/bring-your-phone and enter your phone’s ID (IMEI or MEID (DEC) number). You will see a box with the “ENTER YOUR DEVICE ID” text and the “CONTINUE” orange button next to it. Simply enter the number in the box and click the button to complete the compatibility check.
In general, you should be able to obtain your device’s ID number by dialing *#06#. If this doesn’t work, pick your Operating System on the above site (below the entry box) and read the detailed step-by-step instructions.
If your phone is compatible you will have to purchase a Boost Mobile activation SIM kit, which can be done online. Once you will receive the kit, you will be able to install the SIM card on your phone and activate it. After these initial steps, you will be able to use Boost Mobile plans and phone freely.
NOTE: If your phone is not compatible, with Boost Mobile, it is most likely not unlocked. In this case, you will need to get in touch with the wireless provider to which the phone is tight to and ask them to unlock it. Once your phone has been unlocked repeat the compatibility check process.

However, we decided to help you even further by providing you with an extensive list of the exact mobile phones list that should without a doubt work with Boost Mobile. This is if we assume that they are unlocked, of course.
