Q -Link BYOP Process
In this section, we will cover all the steps of the Q-Link BYOP Process. Essentially there are three simple steps that we must have a look at. However, before we go into the BYOP process steps, it is important to make sure that Q-Link services are available in your area.
Before you continue, make sure that Q-Link services are available in your area. Visit https://qlinkwireless.com/Coverage.aspx, enter your zip code, and click the “Go” button. There are two tabs, one for Voice and one for Data, make sure to check both.
If you prefer to talk with Q-Link support, you can also call them at 1-855-754-6543 (Mon-Fri 8am-12am EST and Sat-Sun 9am-6pm EST) and acquire all the information via phone call.
Q-Link BYOP Compatibility Check
Before you decide to bring your own phone over to Q-Link Wireless you must make sure it is compatible with their network. The simplest way to do so is online. You should visit https://qlinkwireless.com/byop.aspx, where you will be asked to enter your device ID (ESN, IMEI, or MEID).
Enter your device ID in the prompt frame, check the box next to the “I’m not a robot” and click the blue “Continue” button.
If you are having trouble finding your phone ID number, you can use the helpful information provided on the site.
NOTE:
These BYOP Eligibility Rules apply:
- All contractual and financial obligations must be met with your current provider before a phone can be eligible.
- If the phone is flagged as lost or stolen, it is ineligible. You must call your current provider to unflag the phone.
- Leased phones are ineligible.
Purchase SIM Activation Kit
To get to this step, you must first complete the step above.
As you will click on the “Continue” button above, you will get a chance to purchase your SIM Activation Kit, of course, only if your phone is compatible with the Q-Link Wireless network.
To complete the purchase of the SIM Activation kit you will have to enter a payment method and your personal data, such as name and address.
Once you have completed the purchase, you must wait a couple of days for your SIM card to be delivered.
SIM card installation/Q-Link SIM card activation
Once your Q-Link SIM card is delivered to you, you must physically install it into your phone. This process is specific to every phone model. Depending on the year of your phone, you will either have to remove the battery and find the SIM card slot there or it might be on the side of your phone. If you need help with these processes, visit a local phone dealer.
Once you have inserted your Q-Link SIM card into your phone, you will have to activate it.
There are three easy steps to activate your SIM card:
- Log in to My Q Link: Username is your email and the Password is your ZIP code unless previously changed.
- Follow Steps: Once logged in, you’ll be directed to your phone activation instructions.
- Make a Test Call: Place a call to 305-260-6232 to ensure your activation was successful.
Note: If you need assistance at any step, just call Q-Link Wireless support at 1-855-754-6543.
How to reactivate your old Q-Link?
If you already have a Q-Link SIM card that you’ve been using before, you must follow the same steps as described in the last step of the previous section. The activation process for both new and existing clients is the same.
Can I keep my old cell phone number when I switch to the Q-Link BYOP program?
Many clients ask that question and the answer is YES, you get to keep your existing phone number.
In order to do so, you will need to have the following information ready:
- Your existing Phone number
