Life Wireless is a prominent wireless company, Lifeline and ACP government assistance company, and provider of free government phones, offering essential communication services and devices to eligible individuals. If you are thinking of joining the company, you may wonder what kind of phone does Life Wireless give you when you enroll in its services. If so, stay tuned to learn more about the phone options available through Life Wireless and how to obtain one.
What Kind of Phones Does Life Wireless Send to You When You Join
While the exact phone model cannot be predetermined, Life Wireless strives to provide functional and reliable devices. Typically, customers can anticipate receiving entry-level or mid-range (most likely Android-powered) smartphones. These devices are carefully chosen to ensure quality and performance. While specific brands and models may vary by state, plan, and availability, Life Wireless aims to offer phones that meet the essential communication needs of its customers.
According to the phone manuals that are featured on Life’s official website, we can assume that the following are the devices currently offered by Life in different areas. We may assume that based on the fact that Life, as a Lifeline and ACP provider, only offers free phones and it wouldn’t make much sense for the company to offer phone manuals for devices that are not provided by them. How Long Does It Take for a Life Wireless Phone to Be Delivered?
As soon as you apply for a free phone and service and your application gets approved, Life Wireless will try to ship a free device to you immediately. However, exactly when you will receive the device depends on many factors, including:
- Availability
- Your location (if you live far or near the warehouse)
- The timing (delivery companies have a lot of work during the holidays, therefore, it may take longer than usual for your phone to be delivered)
You should, however, expect to receive your Life Wireless device in a week or two. If the device hasn’t been delivered in 14 days, contact the company’s customer support service. You can contact the team by phone at 1-888-543-3620, by email at [email protected], or online at https://www.lifewireless.com/contactus. Keep in mind that the company’s support service is available 7 days a week from 7 AM to 12 AM Eastern.
How Do I Know if Life Wireless is Sending Me a Phone?
When joining Life Wireless, you will have two phone options:
- You can either choose to bring your own compatible device
- Or you can choose for Life to send you a new free device (which the company will do as long as you are eligible for the program)
You will be able to choose one of those two options during the application process. If you choose to receive a free phone, you can be certain that a new phone will be delivered to you (if you are eligible to receive it). As only qualifying customers can receive a Life Wireless phone, make sure to check Life’s Lifeline and ACP eligibility criteria below.
What Other Benefits Will You Get When You Join Life Wireless?

How to Join the Life Wireless Free Phone Program?
In order to join Life’s free phone program and receive the free device and free cellular service, follow these simple steps:
- You have to make sure that you qualify for the assistance program. You can qualify for Lifeline and ACP based on your low income or your participation in another qualifying government assistance program. To qualify based on income, your annual household income must be at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines for Lifeline and at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines for ACP. To qualify based on your program participation, you or another member of your household must participate in one of the following government assistance programs – Medicaid, SNAP, SSI, FPHA, Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit, a Tribal program, WIC (ACP only), Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program (ACP only), or if your household received a Federal Pell Grant in the current award year (ACP only). Moreover, if you qualify for Lifeline, you also automatically qualify for ACP.
- You must be able to prove your Lifeline/ACP eligibility. You can do so during the application process by providing copies of certain valid official documents that prove your income-based or program participation-based eligibility. To prove your low income, you can submit a copy of a prior year’s tax return, paycheck stubs, a current income statement from your employer, Unemployment benefits verification, etc. To prove your program participation, you must bring a copy of the approval letter, benefit award/verification letter, or statement of benefits. Moreover, you may be asked to provide proof of identity or age (ID, passport, birth certificate), proof of address (ID, driver’s license, utility bill), proof of emancipation (court document or emancipation certificate), your Social Security Number, etc.
- You must apply for the program. You can first apply through the National Verifier for Lifeline and ACP. This way, if approved, you will already be a Lifeline/ACP subscriber and will be able to apply for a provider’s services and switch providers at any time. To do so, visit https://getinternet.gov/apply?id=nv_home for Lifeline and https://getinternet.gov/apply?id=acp&awsl=link-from-how-to-apply for ACP. Log in or create an account if necessary. Then, complete the application form by providing all the required information and documentation. Submit the form and wait for approval notification. Secondly, you must apply for Life’s benefits directly. To do so, visit https://www.lifewireless.com/, enter your ZIP code and email address, and press Apply Now. Follow the on-screen prompts to select a plan and other benefits and to fill out the application form. If approved, you will be notified.
Can I Replace My Life Wireless Phone if the Phone is Lost, Stolen, or Broken?
In the event that Life Wireless identifies a defect in the phone, they will send a replacement device to the customer, accompanied by a free 2-week Unlimited Minutes PIN. However, if the phone is damaged, lost, or stolen, the customer will need to make a payment of $40.00 before Life Wireless can proceed with shipping the replacement phone.
Does Life Wireless Offer Free Phone Upgrades?
As Life Wireless doesn’t sell mobile devices, it is unlikely for you to be able to receive an upgrade from Life. However, you can always check by contacting the company’s customer support service.
